 We were hoping to cycle up the Harong valley, over the Kongla La, past Chushul and then over the Kaksang La, and had been told there were no checkpoints en route. So it was a bit annoying to come across a detachment of Sikh Army boys at Parma. They were nice and friendly but wouldn’t let us continue, so we had to backtrack over the Chang La.
